As a public school system, we welcome all students who reside within the district's boundaries

and meet the state's age and health requirements.

  • Who Can Enroll? Only a parent or legal guardian is allowed to register a student in the Township of Union Public Schools. You must reside in a permanent home within the Township of Union.

  • If your family will be moving out of the district at any time during the school year, you MUST officially withdraw your child/children from the district.

    Please contact the building secretary for assistance with the following:

    -TUPS Notification of Transfer Elementary form or Transfer UHS-High School form
    -Transfer Card
    -Academic Records
    -Health Records
    -Return of the district-owned Chromebook device

  • All documentation must be uploaded in PDF format during the online registration process.

    Please bring:

    •  Identification – Government-issued photo ID (parent/guardian)

    •  Proof of Student Identity - Official/Original Birth Certificate (in English)

    •  Proof of Residency - Choose from the following (must provide multiple forms):

    Deed or Mortgage Statement

               Current Municipal Tax Statement

                5-C Affidavit of Landlord

                Current Lease (must list all occupants)

    • Three (3) Current Utility Bills (dated within 45 days):

                          Cable, Cell Phone, Credit Card, Electric, Gas, Water, Pay Stub,

                          Financial Statement, Car Insurance, etc.

    • Health Requirements

                          Health Packet - PreK - Grade 5

                          Health Packet – Grades 6–12 

    • Medical Release Form

                           Current Immunization Record & Health Profile (signed by a physician)

    • Academic Records

                           Transfer Card with NJ State ID Number

                           Transcripts / Most Recent Report Card (for placement)

                           Authorization for Release of Records:

                           Grades K–8 Form

                           Grades 9–12 Form

                           Legal Documentation (if applicable)

                           IEP or Section 504 Plan

                           Court Custody Orders or State Agency Agreements

                           Guardianship Documentation (if not biological parent)

    •  Residency Affidavits (if applicable)

    The resident must provide a lease/mortgage and 3 utility bills. The parent/Guardian must provide three utility bills from the list above. The resident must attend the in-person appointment.

  • Kindergarten: The child must be 5 years old on or before October 1 of the school year.

    No exceptions will be made for children who do not meet this requirement.

    First Grade: The child must be 6 years old on or before October 1, must have completed a Kindergarten program, and must be recommended for first grade by their teacher.
